\u00ab"I don't understand any of this, so I'll just tell it like it is," Goldberg said before launching into a chain of events.<\/p>\n

The controversy erupted not because of the photo itself, but because of the caption, which Molen later deleted. It read: "Your eldest son will be the most toxic guy you'll ever date.".<\/p>\n

After the post and her taste began to be criticized, the 47-year-old best-selling author New York Times<\/em> stood up for herself, declaring: \u00abI stand by my opinion!\u00bb<\/p>\n

The scandal continued unabated. Reactions ranged from claims that the photos "showed a mother being affectionate with her child" to accusations that they were "creepy and completely inappropriate.".<\/p>\n
