"60 Minutes" correspondents Bill Whitaker, Lesley Stahl and Jon Wertheim held an hour-long meeting Wednesday to discuss their futures on the show following another round of layoffs at the news magazine, Status reports.<\/p>\n

Stahl's contract has expired, and it's unclear whether she will return for the show's next season, Status reports. Meanwhile, Whitaker is considering her options and may leave the show, the publication reports, citing three sources.<\/p>\n

Questions resurfaced this week about the plans of three 60 Minutes journalists following the firing of Scott Pelley, whose contract was terminated due to a conflict with new executive producer Nick Bilton.<\/p>\n

Prior to Pelley's firing, CBS terminated the contracts of correspondents Cecilia Vega and Sharyn Alfonsi, as well as executive producer Tanya Simon.<\/p>\n

Anderson Cooper, who also worked on the show's final season, announced his decision to leave the project in May.<\/p>\n

The drama unfolding around one of the most famous news programs in television history began with the appointment of right-wing columnist Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief of CBS News.<\/p>\n

Weiss took over the company after the Trump administration approved the merger of CBS parent company Paramount with Skydance, and has since faced repeated accusations of trying to win the president's favor.<\/p>\n

As reported, the network suddenly pulled a 60 Minutes segment about Venezuelan immigrants imprisoned in El Salvador by the Trump administration shortly before it was scheduled to air.<\/p>\n

Pelley, whose career at CBS News spanned more than three decades, criticized Weiss during a tense all-staff meeting Monday.<\/p>\n
