Tory Lanes wants to distance himself from a prison guard he says is trying to put him in a "dangerous cell.".<\/p>\n
In documents filed in federal court on May 27, the Canadian rapper and singer, currently incarcerated at the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo, claims he is subject to ongoing threats, intimidation and harassment from a specific prison guard.<\/p>\n
Last year, Lanes, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was attacked by another inmate, Santino Cascio, who allegedly heard rumors that Lanes wished him harm. The incident left Lanes stabbed 14 times and with two collapsed lungs.<\/p>\n
In their statement, Lanes' team claimed the prison guard mentioned the 2025 attack "in a threatening manner," raising concerns about a repeat incident.<\/p>\n

In April, the artist, known for his work Peterson<\/em> , Lanes filed a $100 million lawsuit against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as well as seeking compensation from the prison warden and 50 employees at the Tehachapi Correctional Institution. Following his hospitalization, Lanes was transferred to the California Men's Colony. The 33-year-old singer is serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of three-time Grammy Award winner Megan Thee Stallion.<\/p>\n In arguing for approval of his restraining order, Lanes stated that he feared retaliation for his recent lawsuit. In addition to physical harm, the artist said he suffered emotional trauma as a result of the 2025 attack.
