Also, Graham King handled international sales.).<\/p>\n<p> Blumhouse film &quot;\u00ab <em>Obsession<\/em> \u00bb&quot; was launched like any genre film\u2014screening at cult festivals like SXSW, with cute gimmicks like the sticky notes with &quot;love&quot; from the main character&#039;s girlfriend, Nikki (Indi Navarrette). But ultimately, the film sells itself. That&#039;s the best form of marketing. Couples of all ages, from Generation Alpha to 50, flock to see it, and once they leave the theater, the battle of the sexes begins.<\/p>\n<p> YouTube genre content creator Curry Barker&#039;s feature directorial debut was made for $750,000 and, as we previously reported, was acquired by Focus Features at TIFF Midnight for over $15 million.<\/p>\n<p> Movie <em>\u00abObsession\u00bb<\/em> delivered a stunning performance, grossing $25.6 million in its fourth weekend at the US box office (-7%), marking the biggest fourth weekend in horror film history, beating <em>\u00ab&quot;The Blair Witch Project&quot;\u00bb<\/em> 1999, which grossed $24.3 million. Overseas, the film grossed $17.7 million in its fourth weekend ($13.8 million in Universal territories), and its worldwide weekend total <strong>amounted to 43.8 million dollars<\/strong> on 6,825 screens in 57 countries.
