Kennedy, by annually presenting the JFK Profile in Courage Award and other efforts.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p> Schlossberg is currently in a tight race for the Congressional seat representing New York&#039;s 12th District.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Jack Schlossberg, grandson of President John F. Kennedy and a candidate for Congress from New York, praises his mother, Caroline Kennedy, as &quot;the strongest person in the world.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p> In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the 33-year-old Democrat discusses his campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives and his family&#039;s work, led by his mother, to preserve his grandfather&#039;s legacy through the annual John F. Kennedy Courage Awards ceremony held at the John F. She takes everything she does incredibly seriously, including the award and the work she does for the library,&quot; says Schlossberg. &quot;We were thrilled to present it to Jay Powell. I was very nervous about it, but we also wanted to make sure it was appropriate for the occasion.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p> \u00abAnd we found a way to give back to the people of the Sister Cities, and my mother played a really important role in how we were going to do that and how we were going to develop this program,\u00bb he continues, adding that his mother, who served as U.S. ambassador to Japan and Australia under the Obama and Biden administrations, respectively, \u00abalways pushes us to do more than what\u2019s expected of us.\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p> Schlossberg told PEOPLE that the award, inspired by John F. He is leading other candidates in this tight primary, including George Conway, the ex-husband of longtime Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway.<\/p>\n<p> Along with his mother, Schlossberg was one of the most outspoken family members in condemning his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his attacks on the U.S. health care system and, in their view, for betraying family traditions when he served as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Donald Trump administration. <\/p>\n<p> President John F.
