Ahsoka season 2 will officially bring one of Star Wars Rebels' main characters to the forefront (and it's a well-deserved promotion). Ahsoka season 1 was positioned as a reunion for the Star Wars Rebels cast, as it featured the live-action debuts of Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger. While much of the first half of the season focused on the dynamic between the trio of Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera, Ezra served only as a season-ending climax and emotional \u00abMacGuffin\u00bb<\/strong> , which drove the whole plot.<\/p>\n

Speaking at his SpaceCon panel in San Antonio in June 2026 (according to Star Wars Holocron), Eman Esfandi confirmed that Ezra Bridger will appear in every episode of Ahsoka's second season, giving the Star Wars Rebels fan favorite a much more prominent role this season. This is a significant improvement for the character, considering he only appeared in the final three episodes of the first season.<\/p>\n

Many have argued that Eman Esfandi's Ezra Bridger stole the show in Ahsoka's first season, and his continued presence throughout the season should give the character more opportunities to shine.<\/p>\n

Following Ezra's self-sacrifice at the end of Star Wars Rebels, the mystery of his absence became the primary motivation for the main characters to embark on a mission to rescue him in another galaxy (Peridea).<\/p>\n

Ezra's significantly expanded role in the show's second season makes sense, given that he'll be primarily operating in the main galaxy, helping the New Republic learn more about Peridea in order to bring Ahsoka and Sabine home. More screen time for Ezra could hint at new collaborations with Hera, Chopper, and even rising star of The Mandalorian and Grogu, Zeb Orrelios.<\/p>\n

Ezra's expanded role in season two also represents a significant narrative shift, highlighting the character's transition from a significant plot element to an active protagonist. Ezra's expanded presence also allows for exploration of his feelings of guilt and responsibility for what he "left"\u00ab<\/strong> Sabine and Ahsoka, which echoes some of his compelling portrayals in the animated series Rebels.<\/p>\n

Ezra's journey as a Force-sensitive Jedi is also expected to be explored, and it's even possible that part of his story will focus on mentoring Jacen Syndulla, who seeks to continue Kanan's legacy. Ezra's return home makes him a key player in the confrontation with Grand Admiral Thrawn, and some even speculate that he may recruit Luke Skywalker to the fight as a last resort.<\/p>\n
