The "Snooze" singer lashed out at them in a new social media post, calling them "disgusting" for promoting a "degenerate" product. And this isn't the first time she's spoken out on the matter. In 2025, SZA, along with other popular artists, criticized an AI-powered artist who had signed a multimillion-dollar record deal.<\/p>\n

On June 20, SZA shared a screenshot of the AI platform and announced that 238 of her songs had been used to train various AI models. "I'm sure some of these haven't been released yet," she wrote.<\/p>\n

SZA then lashed out at her fellow musicians for supporting "this degenerate crap," calling them "disgusting.".<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old Grammy Award winner didn't stop there. She called proponents of AI in the music industry "disgusting," adding, "Nothing you could tell me would make that acceptable.".<\/p>\n

She concluded, "I hope you have the life you deserve.".<\/p>\n

SZA has been critical of artificial intelligence models before.<\/h2>\n

This isn't the first time SZA has criticized AI models. According to Complex, the singer lashed out online, stating, "AI is killing and polluting Black and Latino cities. None of you care because you're dependent on a machine. I wish you a wonderful life.".<\/p>\n

In April 2024, a group of artists, including Billie Eilish, J Balvin, Nicki Minaj, Stevie Wonder, and others, condemned the use of AI in the music industry, saying the tool had the potential to undermine or replace human artists.<\/p>\n

Artists including SZA have spoken out after an AI-powered artist signed a $3 million record deal.<\/h2>\n

In September 2025, SZA criticized Xania Monet, an AI-generated artist who soared to the top of the Billboard charts after releasing several AI-generated tracks that garnered widespread attention. According to Ebony, her popularity led to a $3 million record deal with Hallwood Media, which greatly angered the "Kill Bill" singer.<\/p>\n

\u00ab"Hey, I hate AI. If you contact me, PLEASE do not create any images of me or songs using AI," she wrote. "People and children are dying from the harm and pollution created by AI-powered energy centers. A stupid photo is not worth polluting and harming underserved communities. Thank you.".<\/p>\n

Kehlani also criticized the move, calling the contract "completely out of our control." And while artificial intelligence may be useful in some cases, she said she could never "justify" it.<\/p>\n

Teddy Swims has faced criticism after admitting to using artificial intelligence in his music.<\/h2>\n

Although SZA didn't name names in her post, one popular artist admitted to using AI to assist in the music-making process, The Blast reports. In November 2025, Teddy Swims said he found the product "truly amazing" and admitted to using AI to generate lyrics.<\/p>\n

Swims, known for his hit "Lose Control," also said AI has helped him and his producers reimagine songs. "We can just pick up an acoustic guitar, write a melody and lyrics, finish the song, upload it, and say, 'Okay, I want to hear this song as country,' or 'I want to hear this song as rock and roll,'" he said.<\/p>\n

Swims says there's one aspect of artificial intelligence he doesn't support: content creators using his real voice to create videos or sounds. He also said he's had legal issues in the past when a content creator used his voice in a track he wanted to play but couldn't.<\/p>\n
