During the conversation, Michael Sebastian asked Spade if it was true that &quot;you almost played Joey in <em>the TV series &quot;Full House&quot;?\u00ab<\/em> <\/p>\n<p> \u00ab&quot;That&#039;s not exactly a lie,&quot; Spade replied with a laugh.<\/p>\n<p> \u00ab&quot;When I moved here, it was one of my first auditions where I was under a little pressure, and I auditioned for the role of Joey,&quot; he recalls. While he doesn&#039;t remember the audition details, he vaguely recalls a comical scene where Joey juggles laundry with other chores.<\/p>\n<p> \u00abI didn\u2019t know what I was doing, but let\u2019s just say I didn\u2019t fit in well <em>So<\/em> \u00bbclose,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p> David Spade Photo: Matt Winkelmeyer\/Getty<\/p>\n<p> Besides <em>TV series &quot;Full House&quot;,<\/em> Spade also recalled auditioning for <em>TV series &quot;In the Heat of the Night&quot;,<\/em> which aired from 1988 to 1995. He noted that if he had received any of these roles, his career would have turned out completely differently. <\/p>\n<p> \u00ab&quot;What a different career. If I had gotten this role, it would have lasted for about seven years. No comedy,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p> Then the actor from <em>film &quot;Grown Ups&quot;\u00ab<\/em> thought about <em>the TV series &quot;Full House&quot;,<\/em> saying, &quot;It could have been different. I think if I look back on everything that went wrong, it all worked out well in the end, but damn, the turmoil of things not working out. It&#039;s tough. It really took a toll on me mentally when things weren&#039;t working out.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p> The role of family friend Joey Gladstone in the series <em>\u00abFull House,<\/em> The show, which aired for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995, eventually went to comedian Dave Coulier. Content via Getty<\/p>\n<p> At the 2023 &#039;90s Con,&#039; Coulier recalled meeting Saget during his stand-up routine several years before they starred together on the hit sitcom. He recounted how the late actor, who died in 2022 from blunt force trauma following an undisclosed fall, gave him his address and told him to stay in touch if he ever needed anything. <\/p>\n<p> When Coulier moved to Los Angeles, he took the napkin with him and called Saget, who immediately told him, &quot;Come over.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p> \u00ab&quot;Then I couldn&#039;t find an apartment, so I slept on his couch for two weeks while he was traveling. He didn&#039;t know me! He just let me stay in his apartment,&quot; Kuli shared.<\/p>\n<p> Ten years later, they reunited to work on the series.<\/p>\n<p> \u00abThen art began to imitate life,\u201d Coulier continued. \u201cWhen we were filming <em>\u00abFull House,<\/em> I moved into Danny&#039;s house and slept in this damn alcove.
