The 44-year-old pop princess wrote, "If you're one of those mean girls pointing, laughing, and looking at your phones in the audience, just look up tonight... River is sending you a message!!!!!!!!" Xyla Maria, or River Red, is the stage name the artist uses.<\/p>\n

Britney Spears was arrested in California on March 4 on suspicion of drunk driving after authorities say she drove her BMW in dangerous maneuvers at high speed, the BBC reports.<\/p>\n

Video footage was later released showing the singer struggling with a field sobriety test at the scene. Authorities said she told officers she had drunk a mimosa and was taking prescription medications, including Adderall, Lamictal, and Prozac. The video attracted widespread public attention.<\/p>\n

Spears avoided jail time and received a suspended sentence of one year after pleading guilty on May 4. On May 26, she addressed the unwanted public attention. In an Instagram post, the icon wrote, "When you get that awkward, weird feeling where you start to think there's too much gossip behind your back... it really affects people... I still send them love, but most importantly... I hope they feel my smile... The media, in my opinion, is a little over the top, and I hope they can respect my incredible and wonderful spiritual journey... I'm so happy to embrace my journey, and I hope they stop showing the shameful things from my past.".<\/p>\n

Two days later, she posted again, accompanied by an edited childhood photo in which she appeared to be giving the middle finger. She wrote, "If you're one of those mean girls pointing, laughing, and looking at your phone in the gym, just look up today..." This was followed by a video of her dancing in a pink minidress.<\/p>\n

A source told Entertainment Tonight that Spears, who has two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Sean Preston and Jayden James, was "absolutely devastated" after the release of the video of her arrest. "Recovery hasn't been easy for her. She's working on rebuilding her relationship with her sons and leaning on the support of those around her to try to stay positive," the source said.<\/p>\n
