Perhaps their success in Nashville can be attributed to the band&#039;s roots in Mobile, Alabama, or to lead singer Brandon Coleman&#039;s Southern accent. But <em>Grateful,<\/em> On Strays&#039; third album, they reveal themselves to be not just a future great country band, but a true rock &#039;n&#039; roll band. And a God-fearing one at that.<\/p>\n<p> Reuniting with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb, who oversaw the band&#039;s 2024 album <em>Made by These Moments,<\/em> The Strays deliver a timely and relevant record that rivals anything in the rock world. It&#039;s a blast of gospel rock with a message that doesn&#039;t sound like trite, empty talk or, worse, like cheesy Christian rock. <\/p>\n<p> Group <em>admits,<\/em> He&#039;s having a good time on tour, as evidenced by &quot;Down South,&quot; the most Skynyrd-esque track, but he ignores the persistent pleas of female fans who might have something more on their minds. It might be tempting to assume that Strays are preachers who&#039;ve seen the truth. But Coleman and his frequent collaborators, brothers Matthew and Dakota Coleman, and guitarist Drew Nix, aren&#039;t afraid to take a critical look at the false prophet: &quot;Demons in Your Choir&quot; is a cautionary tale about following wolves in shepherd&#039;s clothing, complete with a choir that underscores the drama.<\/p>\n<p> The best examples of rock &#039;n&#039; roll have always carried a certain message. On the album <em>Grateful<\/em> The Strays prove their message is worth listening to.
