Van Zanten believes that a huge opportunity is now opening up. &quot;Bridging this gap can put companies at the forefront of the entire industry,&quot; she says.<\/p>\n<h2> Any routine tasks can be automated.<\/h2>\n<p> Too many companies overlook the benefits of implementing automated systems across their entire organization.<\/p>\n<p> \u00ab&quot;Any repetitive task your employee needs to perform regularly can likely be taken over by machine learning or artificial intelligence,&quot; she explains. &quot;Think about data entry. Think about handling common customer inquiries. Think about inventory management. Think about generating daily reports\u2014or monthly, or quarterly, for that matter. Modern automation platforms can be trained to perform the necessary steps and begin performing such work automatically.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p> As a result, employees no longer need to get bogged down in this routine. &quot;It&#039;s important to maintain oversight, especially at the initial stage, to ensure the system is performing the task correctly,&quot; warns Van Zanten. &quot;However, once the system fully understands the nature of the work and the timeframe, it can take over further processing of the necessary data. Automated task management systems can be programmed to ensure every asset operates at its highest possible level.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p> Systems can even help ensure the security of your facilities. &quot;If you combine your machine learning or artificial intelligence platform with sensors via the Internet of Things (IoT), you can provide continuous monitoring,&quot; says Van Zanten. &quot;If a problem occurs\u2014say, the temperature in a walk-in cooler drops and starts to deteriorate\u2014the system can alert you immediately. Let&#039;s say someone breaks into your home at night; the same system can alert you. The system never sleeps, so it immediately raises an alarm and mobilizes your security guards. It&#039;s a great way to avoid making bad decisions. At the same time, it can also provide evidence to support more profitable moves.&quot;. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2> Implement machine learning and artificial intelligence to reach the next level.<\/h2>\n<p> We&#039;re poised to revolutionize business on a scale comparable to 19th-century industrialization. Indeed, these algorithms have already improved significantly in just a few years.
