Spider-Man may be one of my favorite Marvel superheroes, but I don't consider myself a die-hard fan. I only know the character's basic traits and his best films. However, I'm a dedicated enough fan to be interested in the new version in in the film "Spider-Man: Noir"« .
I only learned about its existence through films. «Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse» . I really liked this character, and I was curious to see what Nicolas Cage would bring to the role. I enjoyed watching him as Ben Reilly, but the villains from Spider-Man Noir« really caught my attention.

The villains in Spider-Man Noir have a fascinating origin story that I couldn't stop thinking about.
Series «Spider-Man: Noir» is shrouded in many mysteries. The first four episodes of the first season essentially serve as an introduction to the world Ben and this world. The fifth episode of the first season, "Betrayal," and the sixth episode of the first season, "Nightmare on gurney »" reveals the origins of Spider-Man.
We were delighted to learn that Ben would be Spider-Man Noir instead of Peter Parker, because it meant Cage wouldn't have to imitate other Parker performers. The producers made a great decision, as Cage brings his own style and charm. His origin story also turned out to be a bit more compelling than some other Spider-Man origin stories.
He became a casualty of war. Ben transformed into Spider-Man while trying to save other soldiers. He was accidentally bitten by an infected person. It's a variation on the old story of Peter being bitten by a radioactive spider.
War also turned these people into villains. Flint, aka Sandman (Jack Huston), Dirk, aka Megawatt (Andrew Lewis Caldwell), and Lonnie, aka Tombstone (Abraham Popoola), gained their powers as a result of experiments during World War I. This backstory adds a certain dimension to the film's war-themed narrative.
All these men fought for their country and survived the war, but returned wounded, broken, and suffering. They become "monsters." This statement seems to be Spider-Man Noir against war and how it uses these defenseless people to break them, sometimes beyond recognition.
Superhero shows and movies often have a deeper meaning than the superficial action, but this series particularly impressed me. I think the creators did a great job of conveying this idea without being overtly blatant. We understand the show's point, showing these people as victims of experiments by a corrupt government and system. Instead of being rewarded for their bravery, they were punished by becoming guinea pigs who ultimately turned into villains.

The love story between Kat and Flint turned out to be more attractive than expected.
Many of the best superhero movies explore love stories. The hero has one main love interest, or many, throughout the film. However, «WandaVision» I wasn't particularly interested in Marvel love stories. So I didn't expect to enjoy the love story between Flint and Cat Hardy (Li Jun Li) so much. It wasn't anything special. We've seen stories about a kept woman falling in love with the man tasked with caring for her before. Maybe it was just the chemistry between Lee and Huston that caught my attention.
Kat and Flint's storyline proved that a successful love story doesn't require a completely new concept. It just needs to be gripping enough. I was on edge, wondering if they would end up together. In Spider-Man Noir« A love triangle is created involving Kat, Ben and Flint.
I immediately wondered if she was genuinely interested in Ben or just using him. Luckily, she was. It's just that their relationship didn't work out the way Flint and Kat's did. I'm sure Ben will eventually find a steady girlfriend if the show continues past the first season. This is one of the rare times I'm glad a villain got a girlfriend. Kat and Flint seem like kindred spirits. They understand each other like no one else.
One of the most memorable phrases from «Spider-Man Noir» "That's Kat's way of saying that anyone can love her when she's in a good mood. Flint loved her when she was at her worst. And isn't that what everyone wants: for someone to love them at their worst?

Every villain in Spider-Man Noir's first season feels multifaceted and complex, even if they aren't the show's main protagonist.
Villains in Spider-Man Noir« They were rarely seen on screen. Flint and Silvermane (Brendan Gleeson) were the main villains. They carried most of the storylines, but Dirk and Lonnie had their own compelling stories. Dirk was the least seen. We didn't really get to know him. He was just a generic villain who couldn't be controlled.
But his love of theater made him both creepy and intriguing. I wanted to know more about these dreams and what finally turned him into this man. We didn't learn enough about him, but there were enough hints to make me wonder who he was before all this supervillain business. Perhaps he was even a different supervillain with justifiable motives. I doubt it, but maybe there's a chance.
Lonnie was a reluctant villain. He didn't want to be one, but it was the only way out of poverty. This made him the most sympathetic villain. Because he never fully embraced the role, but did it out of necessity. Every villain in Spider-Man Noir« They weren't one-dimensional bad guys. There was something about them that made them more human and multifaceted.

Silvermane's connections to the mafia boss made the series fit seamlessly into the historical era.
I'd never heard of Silvermane, but I was glad to see him as the main villain. in Spider-Man Noir« . He wasn't the most terrifying gangster, but it was clear he was a man to be avoided, as he was deeply feared by those around him. Gangsters are always a little scary because they're based on real people.
We also naturally associate the mafia with the 1920s–1950s, so it's easy to immerse ourselves in that era. In Spider-Man: Noir« This is also easily achieved through military elements, costumes and references to the best film noir films.

There were some racial comments in the Bond series Lonnie and Robbie that I enjoyed.
Lonnie and Robbie (Lamorne Morris) instantly bond because they share an unspoken understanding as two black men going through a particularly difficult time. They even talk about it briefly when they first meet.
Modern TV shows and movies often depict a world without racism, prejudice, and discrimination. Some viewers don't want to remember the past or the fact that injustice still exists. I like that in Spider-Man Noir« It's not shown that Lonnie and Robbie felt equal to their white colleagues. Lonnie has endured a lot as one of the few black people in his unit. Robbie also has a hard time being a reporter. In Spider-Man Noir« The prejudices they face are not emphasized, but they are felt in the subtext.
That's why their connection felt natural, genuine, and cathartic. Sometimes you can bond with people through shared pain. «Spider-Man: Noir» was one of the most anticipated Spider-Man series, and it didn't disappoint. Watch it with a Prime Video subscription.
