The legendary character&#039;s death was incorporated into the storyline after <strong>Drake Hogestyn</strong> , the actor who played John for nearly 40 years, died after a battle with pancreatic cancer on September 28, 2024.</p><h2> John from Days of Our Lives has died tragically.</h2><p> John Black was Marlena&#039;s lifelong hero and the love of her life. She spent weeks in Europe trying to find her husband after he disappeared during a dangerous ISA mission. Finally, the ISA found John and sent him back to Salem. John, being the man who wanted to save everyone, did so before he could reach Marlena.</p><p> Knowing that <strong>Bo Brady</strong> ( <strong>Peter Reckell</strong> ) Needing a fictional experimental drug to cure sepsis to survive, John infiltrated the lab just minutes after the plane landed in Salem. I know you&#039;re hurting. If you have to leave, that&#039;s okay.&quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Over the past year, &lt;em&gt;Days of Our Lives&lt;/em&gt; has chronicled the life of a widow who courageously endures each day and continues to navigate life without the man with whom she shared her life and family for decades.
