In a teaser for the special, the comedian discusses the groups he's made fun of over the years, stating that he's made fun of "Black people, Latinos, white people, Indian people, and Asian people," before suggesting to viewers that no topic is off-limits.
Netflix similarly promoted the project, boasting that Hinchcliffe "destroys every band imaginable.".
This statement comes months after criticism of jokes made during Hart's Netflix roast, including remarks about George Floyd. During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, Hart later acknowledged that the material was "inappropriate" for many viewers, but defended it as part of the long-established roast format, arguing that viewers understand that racial humor is often part of the genre.

On Deon Cole's podcast "Funny Knowing You," Handler criticized Hinchcliffe and Shane Gillis, calling them "racists," "bigots," and "sexists," while arguing that comedy skits can be sharp without being "disgusting.".
Hinchcliffe later responded live on his podcast, "Kill Tony," claiming Handler repeatedly attacked him during the roast. He claimed the teleprompter malfunctioned during his performance, allowing him to respond to her barbs in real time.
The controversy began after Hinchcliffe joked that Floyd was "looking up" and laughing so hard he "couldn't breathe.".

Before choosing Hart as the main subject of its latest comedy show, Netflix reportedly asked Beatles legend Paul McCartney to take a seat in the contestant's chair.
At 83, McCartney has created a legacy that will leave him in the memories of fans across generations. However, the octogenarian musician reportedly showed no interest in participating in the grand event.
«"We did reach out to Paul McCartney at one point," Roastmasters executive producer and lead actor Jeff Ross told Variety.
«"For me, it would be a fantastic parody of Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney doesn't need anything, but such a parody of him would benefit the whole world. I would find it very funny because he is so loved," he added.

Besides McCartney, Ross also named other famous figures he would like to see roasted.
In an interview with the publication after Hart's performance, Ross said a pop star, a rock star, or a rapper would all be great choices, before naming a few of his personal favorites.
«"I can see Drake being made fun of and still being great," he said.
Ross also singled out Stevie Wonder as one of his favorite ideas, joking, "A Stevie Wonder tribute show: you have to hear it to believe it.".
Both options sparked a heated online reaction, with the comedian's choice of Stevie Wonder attracting the most attention due to the legendary singer's disability.
Ross says roasting Kevin Hart could open up new possibilities.
Launching in 2024, the Netflix series, a celebrity stand-up comedy series, has so far only featured two stars, and Hart's recent appearance has fueled fan interest in a third installment.
Ross did not specify whether another similar event was currently planned, but suggested that Hart's appearance could help convince more high-profile celebrities to participate in the future.
«"What Kevin did opens up opportunities for almost anyone who's at the peak of their career and wants to show the world they know how to carry themselves," he told the publication. "It humanized even Kevin, who we think we know everything about. It forced him to show some vulnerability, to laugh at himself. Many celebrities could use a little more laughter in their careers," Ross added.
