Love Island UK season 13 contestant George Knight abruptly left the show just days after its premiere, citing a desire to reunite with his family.
The 28-year-old professional footballer wrote on Instagram: "Family always comes first. Leaving the @loveisland villa was a decision made to be with my family. Out of respect for them, I'd prefer not to go into detail. Thank you to everyone who wrote kind words and expressed support! It truly means a lot to me.".

The new season of "Love Island UK" kicked off on June 1st and featured 14 contestants, including Knight, Yasmin Hadlow, Aidan Murphy, Angelista Gunda, Ellie Chadwick, Jasmine Muller, Lola Deal, Lorenzo Alessi, Mika Harris, Ope Sowande, Robin Langton, Sam Workman, Samraj Toor, and Sean Fitzgerald. Knight arrived in the villa on day two, causing quite a stir, along with fellow contestant Hadlow.
The news broke as "Love Island USA" premiered this week. The show made headlines after contestant Vasana Montgomery was dropped from the show before its premiere for using a racist slur. She apologized on her Instagram story: "I want to address a couple of videos from my teenage years that have recently surfaced. In these videos, I used a racist slur. There is no excuse for this, and I deeply regret it.".
Episodes of Love Island UK become available on Hulu and Disney+ three days after their UK premiere.
