Gary L. Pudney, an entertainment executive who spent two decades at ABC, has died. He was 91.
Padney died peacefully on Monday surrounded by his family.

During his time at ABC, he became Senior Vice President of Special Projects, Talent and Other Programs, where he produced and oversaw numerous award-winning programs, including the Academy Awards, American Music Awards, Emmy Awards, American Comedy Awards, the International Special Olympics Opening Ceremony, and ABC's 50th Anniversary Celebration at Radio City Music Hall.
Padney oversaw such special programs as «"The Sound of Christmas" by Julie Andrews , "The Royal Gala" in honor of His Royal Highness Prince Charles and Princess Diana, «Night of 100 Stars» and the magazine's anniversary events Rolling Stone . He has also been involved in the development of television films and miniseries, including «"The Puppeteer » Jane Fonda, «"Christmas Memory"» Truman Capote and «Plaza Suite » Neil Simon.
Under his leadership, projects created with Pudney's participation have received more than 50 Emmy Awards.
In 1988, Pudney founded the Gary L. Pudney Company, continuing his work as a producer and executive producer for television and global events.
He also served as an arts advisor to the Princess Grace Foundation in the United States, helping to preserve Princess Grace's legacy. Furthermore, this entertainment executive was a philanthropist, helping raise millions of dollars for organizations such as the American Foundation for AIDS Research, the International Red Cross, Special Olympics, and the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, among many others.
