Former Amazon MGM Studios executive Liz Cohen is joining Keshet Studios as its new executive vice president of scripted projects.
In his new role, Cohen will oversee the development, design, and production of the company's feature projects, working closely with creators, writers, producers, and buyers across broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms.
She will also lead the company's efforts to identify and develop projects based on Keshet's internationally acclaimed formats, third-party rights acquisitions, and original concepts, and will manage the studio's ongoing series partnership with Sony Pictures Television.
Kohin succeeds Peter Traugott as president of Keshet Studios, who left the company earlier this year to join Fifth Season.
Based in Los Angeles, Liz joins Keshet Studios after nearly two decades in the development and production of high-quality television and film products.
Most recently, she served as a senior development executive at Amazon MGM Studios, responsible for major talent and general deals, where she provided creative direction on more than 20 high-profile projects featuring renowned talent. During her tenure, she worked closely with companies such as LuckyChap, Sunday Night, Blossom Films, and Purple Pebble Pictures. She also helped oversee the development of projects such as "Sterling Point," "Life Is Strange," "Silent River," and "Sex Criminals," among many others.
Prior to Amazon, she served as Senior Vice President of Development at JAX Media, where she helped shape the company's drama strategy and worked on projects such as Emily in Paris, A Black Lady Sketch Show, and The Other Two. Earlier in her career, she held development and production positions at On the Day Productions, owned by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone.
«"Liz brings an exceptional combination of creative flair, industry connections, and production experience," said Keren Shahar, CEO of Keshet International, in a statement. "She has built trusted partnerships with some of the most talented producers and creators, particularly during her time at Amazon, where she was involved in an impressive number of high-profile deals and projects. She has a keen eye for crafting high-quality stories, and her taste is an incredible complement to Keshet's creative identity—bold, distinctive, and globally focused.".
«"I've always admired Keshet's bold creative vision and their ability to tell stories that resonate across cultures," Cohen added. "Keshet possesses a rare combination of entrepreneurial energy and creative mastery. I'm thrilled to join Keren and the team to continue creating shows that resonate and breakthrough, and I'm honored to help shape the next chapter in the company's history.".
Keshet Studios' most recent projects include the series "Lovesick," starring Claire Danes, which received a one-series order from Netflix and was created by showrunner Sarah Treem. The company also signed a first-look scripted rights deal with Sony Pictures Television, which has already led to a number of high-profile projects in development, including "Save the Date," from showrunner Dana Fox.
Other notable projects developed and produced by Keshet Studios include three seasons of NBC's La Brea, ABC's The Baker and the Beauty, NBC's Brave, and CBS's The Wisdom of the Crowd, all produced under a ten-year first-run rights deal with Universal Television.
Keshet International has also acquired licenses for two big-budget Keshet 12 dramas to global streaming platforms: Spiro Films' globe-trotting thriller "Unconditional," currently airing Fridays on Apple TV, and "Red Alert," which is available to stream globally on Paramount+.
Other credits include Echo 3 for Apple TV, Our Boys for HBO, the Snap original series Dead Girls Detective Agency, A Small Light for ABC Signature, National Geographic and Disney+, the political thriller Tatami by Guy Nattiv and Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Sound of Silence and Save Yourselves!.
