And if anyone's wondering whether this isn't too fancy for a daytime press conference, my answer is simple: absolutely not in Paris. Especially at the start of a major press tour.

The British actress appeared in an outfit from the collection Tamara Ralph Spring 2025 Couture, consisting of a sculpted black velvet corset and an intricately draped skirt embroidered with pearls, which transformed an ordinary costume into something much more theatrical.

There is something undeniably majestic about this look, where high fashion glamour meets decorative fantasy, almost like jewelry transformed into clothing.
I admit, the pearl skirt will always remind me of Kim Kardashian's look in Schiaparelli at the 2023 Met Gala because it's a visual memory that's impossible to forget, but Tamara Ralph approaches this idea a little differently.
The runway version featured a tailored velvet jacket with sculpted shoulders and pearl buttons, but the corset added a more casual touch. It also kept the outfit from looking too formal for a daytime event.
Was it dressy for a photo shoot? Yes. Was it too dressy? Not for Paris, not for a film presentation, and certainly not for the opening of a press tour, where setting the tone is crucial. Rather, it seemed like Emily's signal that the fashion side of this tour would be worth emphasizing.
