Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction turns 59 today.

Dave Navarro is an iconic musician from the rock band Jane's Addiction. He also played guitar for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and released a solo album. Trust No One . Henry Rollins, vocalist for the hardcore band Black Flag, once called him "one of the last great guitarists." Today he turns 59.

Navarro started performing as a teenager. As reported by Louder Sound , He said, "My first concert was in MacArthur Park when I was in high school. There were about 15 people there. It was amazing, the highlight of my life. [Future Jane's drummer] Stephen Perkins was playing drums, and here we are, over 30 years later, and Stephen and I got to talk this morning. Amazing!"«

Sadly, Jane's Addiction disbanded. In September 2024, their frontman, Perry Farrell, punched Navarro during a concert. Shortly after, the band released a statement, stating, "Due to the ongoing unhealthy behavior and mental health issues of our lead singer, Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to terminate our current US tour. Out of concern for his health and safety, as well as our own, we have no other choice.".

The group disbanded shortly afterward, according to the publication. Variety , the band released a statement that read: "Following that concert, without prior notice to Perry, we unilaterally decided it was best not to continue the tour and made inaccurate statements about Perry's mental health, for which we regret. Today, we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences so that the legacy of Jane's Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together. We now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors. Jane's Addiction will forever remain in our hearts. We are proud of the music we created together.".

Throughout his career, Navarro has received multiple Grammy Award nominations and won an MTV Video Music Award for his song "Been Caught Stealing." In addition to performing, Navarro also hosted and judged the tattoo competition show "« Ink Master »" He left the show in 2022.
