Ronald Lapred, former bassist for the Commodores, has died. He was 75.
On Saturday, Ronald's daughter, Soraya Lapred, announced her father's death in a statement on Instagram Stories. The cause of death has not yet been released.

«It is with deep sorrow that I must announce the passing of my father, Ronald Lapreda,» Soyala wrote.
The New Zealand Herald newspaper , published in the area where Ronald lived for 40 years, reported that he died after a "sudden deterioration in health.".
Ronald Lapred, born September 4, 1950, in Florida, was one of the original members of the Commodores, a group led by Lionel Richie, who signed to Motown in 1972.
«"It's good to be remembered, but you also have to understand that these people are ordinary people, and they're imperfect. They make mistakes, they get sick, they die, they become addicted to drugs," Lapred recently reflected on fame in an interview. "It will shake you. You'll find yourself in a fantasy life that's not real. It's not real life.".
Lapreda's death occurred after the band dropped from the Freedom 250 list. He was not part of the current lineup, having left the band in 1986 and moved to Auckland, New Zealand.
