Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross: The New Flagship from the Legendary Concern

Mitsubishi recently unveiled a new five-seat, functional crossover model, the Eclipse Cross, at official dealerships. It's attracting many Russians not only for its distinctive design but also for its excellent technical specifications.

What awaits buyers?

The new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is available on the car market in five trim levels:

  • Invite with front-wheel drive and manual transmission;
  • Intense and Instyle 2WD with front-wheel drive, but with a CVT gearbox;
  • Instyle 4WD with a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive;
  • Ultimate with a continuously variable transmission, all-wheel drive and the most comprehensive set of additional options.

The all-wheel drive is controlled by the Super All-Wheel Control system. These trims also offer enhanced driving safety with the following options:

  • Rear-end collision warning system;
  • Blind spot monitoring indicator in side mirrors;
  • 360-degree video cameras;
  • Parking controllers and collision avoidance system during parking.

However, all-wheel drive models are distinguished by a relatively low acceleration speed (about 11.4 seconds to 100 km/h) and less economical fuel consumption (9.8 liters per 100 km in the city and 6.5 liters per 100 km on the highway).

Fuel consumption is generally relatively low compared to other cars in its class. This is unsurprising, as the hood still houses a MIVEC engine with a special valve timing system.

The developers delighted us with a high level of comfort and a multifunctional multimedia system. The comfortable seats, indistinguishable from those of a passenger car, and the stylish interior design make for a pleasant experience on long journeys. Combined with high-quality sound from the speakers, this allows you to enjoy the road without any discomfort.

However, travel routes need to be carefully chosen, as the low ground clearance makes it difficult to navigate Russia's rugged terrain. Traveling with a large group is also unlikely, as the issue will be not so much with passenger seating as with their luggage. The Eclipse Cross's standard trunk capacity is 310 liters, and this can only be increased by sliding the rear seats or folding them down completely.

Overall, this crossover's dimensions fall somewhere between the popular ASX and Outlander in our country. Many consider its dimensions ideal for city driving, and overall, this model fits well on busy city roads.

Special purchase conditions

Since Eclipse Cross sales have just begun in our country, buyers can purchase this crossover on more favorable terms. Specifically, they can apply for a loan at 6.9% per annum for up to 60 months (5 years). This interest rate is valid with the Payment Protection service and a comprehensive insurance policy.

Additionally, car owners can take advantage of the Trade-In, MAR Roadside Assistance, and other offers and promotions regularly offered by the concern's dealers. More detailed information is available at dealerships or on the official dealership websites.
