While true moviegoers generally don't root against most films, sometimes pre-release expectations are so negative that any outcome other than a complete and utter failure seems completely impossible.
Sometimes it's clear from the tea leaves that critical and/or commercial oblivion is inevitable, and so all we can do is wait with bated breath to see it all unfold before our eyes.
