In the upcoming series, which is an adaptation of Carly Fortune's novel,« Every summer after"» , In Barry Bay, Harris transports viewers to the beloved lake where Percy (Sadie Soverall) and Sam's (Matt Cornett) love story unfolds. But Harris has plans that will take the story beyond this location.
«"I see five seasons," Harris says in an interview Entertainment Weekly . "Obviously there's another book connected to Barry Bay that I think would be a very interesting basis for us to build on for a potential second season.".

Harris refers to the film «One Golden Summer» Fortune magazine, which follows Sam's brother, Charlie (Michael Bradway), as he finds love (also at a lake). But Harris goes beyond the source material.

«"We have six main characters, and I think we'll be adding new characters with each season. I really see this as a series, and that's why we've structured it so we can come back and explore a lot more romance," she says. "We have so much more to tell, both with Percy and Sam's love story and with other characters that I hope viewers will love as much as Percy and Sam.".
Regarding Percy and Sam, she adds, "Even if you end up with a happy relationship, it takes a lot of work and isn't easy. And I think that's interesting to explore, too. I think there's still a lot to tell in Barry Bay.".
Although the series has not yet been renewed for a second season, Harris remains hopeful for the future.
Film premiere «Every Year After» will premiere on June 10 on Prime Video.
