The Blast had the opportunity to speak with the owner of the famous dog, Denny, who shared a little about how her predictions came about and how they've evolved over time. And, of course, the conversation turned to the NBA Finals just before Game 7 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs!

Sports fans know where to turn when they want a winning game prediction, and it's definitely not the betting sites! Lilo, the corgi also known as Steph Ferry and Aircorg, is the one many fans turn to for a fun way to predict who will win. And this NBA Finals season, she was right.
When asked how Lilo got her start making sports predictions, Danny told The Blast that she's a puppy who will "play fetch until she passes out." He also explained that she was named after Lilo and Stitch and is "super alpha, brave, and basically a diva from puppyhood.".
«"Our family loves sports, especially the NFL and NBA, but thanks to our dog, we've become passionate about many new sports, like hockey and football," he shared. "We've been able to meet all these new fan groups, and it's so cool to be a part of that.".
At his wife's birthday party during the pandemic, Danny noticed Lilo was able to bounce balloons, and one even landed in the basket.
«"We all froze and asked if anyone had caught it on camera," he said. "Then I taught her to do the same with a beach ball, and the rest is history.".
Lilo's predictions turned out to be "more right than wrong.".
No one can be right all the time, but at least she's charming and enjoys it whether her prediction is right or not. Sometimes, though, fans take it personally if her prediction doesn't come true.
«"If you dig through the comments, you'll see a lot of messages like 'this corgi is always wrong' or 'this corgi is always right,'" Denny said.
«"I'd say she's right more often than she's wrong. In NBA game predictions, she's been right 7 out of 8, 2 out of 4, and 1 out of 2, for a combined 10 out of 13. But last time, it was crazy, when the corgi predicted a 3-1 comeback for the Golden State Warriors against the Lakers, and it was very close until Game 6. That's the biggest margin of error we've ever seen in predicting the outcome of individual games in a series.".
Asked if he feels pressure about his predictions, Denny replied: "A lot of pressure.".
«"Honestly, if people choose to blame the corgis instead of their team, then I'm all for being the scapegoat, or the scapegoat dog," he said. "I'm not even sure I could watch Game 7.".
Corgis are showing up everywhere... including at the latest San Antonio Spurs/Oklahoma City Kansas game.
After the Spurs' last game against Oklahoma City, Danny started getting a lot of messages from friends saying they had seen Lilo in the arena.
«"We've been getting a lot of messages and private messages from friends about having a corgi poster at the game," he said. "It's just so cool to see my dog be a part of something so big. It's a really great fan base on both sides.".
Denny has also posted other photos of his puppy on his Instagram Stories. Recent photos include a video of Lilo on a TV at a San Antonio gym, as well as a funny video taken by a fan.

Lilo's Instagram video of her prediction for the Spurs/Oklahoma City game sparked a heated discussion in the comments.
«"Am I really pinning all my hope on a corgi?" one viewer wrote. Another added, "Okay. This is getting weird, but I'll buy that dog treats for a whole year if he's right!" Another shared, "The Air Corgi is literally trying to make a prophecy.".

Many of Danny's videos have gone viral and attracted a lot of attention, but when asked about the boldest prediction he's ever made, he replied that Lilo once made a truly "crazy" prediction.
«"She predicted one of the soccer tournament finals down to the final score and goal order, and her misses coincided with something that happened during the game. It was crazy," he said. "The 3-1 GSW camp went viral for us, and although it didn't work out in the end, we received a lot of criticism during that period. The USA vs. Canada hockey final was similar, where she guessed the exact score and goal order.".
He added: "But if San Antonio can pull it off, it will certainly be our best game.".
