The official announcement for Ahsoka Season 2 introduced several unexpected characters from the series. Lucasfilm and Disney have been delaying new Ahsoka Tano stories for nearly three years, since the first season of her solo series debuted on Disney+ in 2023. As the return of the former Jedi's solo adventure approaches, the studio behind it hopes to begin building excitement for the series as soon as possible.
In May 2026, at a Disney presentation on television and streaming services in New York City, studio representatives met with lead actress Rosario Dawson. The studio invited the series star on stage to discuss the 2027 release of Ahsoka's second season, which focused on the titular character, Ahsoka, and also revealed two supporting characters who would join her: Chopper and an unnamed Lothian cat.
Officially designated C1-10P and nicknamed "Chopper," this orange-and-silver droid is an integral part of Ahsoka's Ghost crew, appearing in both Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka. Known for his fiery and mischievous nature, Chopper is the crew's resident mechanic and demonstrates unwavering loyalty to the entire group.
As part of the show's promotion, Dawson also held an unnamed white Lothian cat in her hand, while Chopper rolled out next to her.
Loth cats were introduced in the Star Wars Rebels series as inhabitants of the planet Lothal, which is also the home planet of Ahsoka's character, Ezra Bridger. Like real-life cats, Loth cats are found throughout Lothal and are known for their sharp teeth, claws, and fiery temperament. At the time of writing, it is unclear what role they will play in Ahsoka's second season.
The two are expected to play significant supporting roles in the Ahsoka series alongside the main characters. The second season of Ahsoka is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in early 2027.

Ahsoka Tano
The character expected to have the most screen time in the Ahsoka series is Ahsoka Tano herself, played by Rosario Dawson. After first portraying the character in The Mandalorian's second season, Dawson also appeared in The Book of Boba Fett, as well as both seasons of her solo series.
At the beginning of Season Two, Ahsoka is expected to still be on Peridaia after most of her crew returned to the main universe in pursuit of Grand Admiral Thrawn. While it's unknown how long she'll remain there, she'll likely reunite with her crew and pursue Thrawn, who has once again become a threat to the galaxy.
Sabina Ren
He is expected to take the place of Sabine Wren, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, in screen time immediately after Ahsoka. Sabine, introduced as a main character in Star Wars Rebels, is a key member of the Ghost crew and has also trained in the Jedi arts since the series ended.
The first season ended with Sabine stranded on Peridea with Ahsoka while the rest of the crew returned to the main universe to confront Thrawn. Season two will likely show the further development of her Jedi skills and her collaboration with Ahsoka to return home to her family.
Ezra Bridger
After a long absence from the Star Wars universe, Eman Esfandi reprised the role of Ezra Bridger in the first season of Ahsoka. The character was a key figure in all four seasons of Star Wars Rebels, but he did not appear in any Star Wars projects between 2018 and 2023.
Ezra, who appeared in just four episodes of the first season, is expected to play a much more significant role in the second season of Ahsoka after returning to his home universe and reuniting with the Ghost crew. In the new season, he will appear clean-shaven, honing his Jedi skills, but his character's further arc has yet to be revealed.
Baylan Skoll
One of the main villains expected to receive significant screen time this season is Baylan Skoll, previously played by the late Ray Stevenson. A former Jedi Knight, Skoll survived the Great Jedi Purge and sought to break the endless cycle of galactic war by finding a power source on Peridaia.
Skoll will return in season two, taking over the role previously played by Jumanji: The Next Level star Rory McCann following Stevenson's death. Skoll remains on Peridea with Ahsoka and Sabine, though he will continue his journey without his apprentice, having left Shin Hachi.
Shin Hachi
Ivanna Sakhno, introduced in the first season as a new antagonist, will return in the second season of Ahsoka as Shin Hachi. She was originally Baylan Skoll's apprentice, but after a battle with Ahsoka and Sabine, Skoll abandoned her and left her on Peridea.
Their relationship is expected to deepen in season two, possibly during a reunion. However, her storyline is being kept under wraps, as she appeared in nearly every episode of season one.
Hera Syndulla
After a key supporting role in the Star Wars Rebels series, ace pilot Hera Syndulla made her live-action debut in Ahsoka. The role was played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who is married to Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor.
Hera was part of the team that returned to the main universe at the end of season one, along with Ezra Bridger. Winstead confirmed that she will play a much more significant role in season two, operating on the front lines against Thrawn and developing a deeper relationship with her son through his connection to the Force.
Grand Admiral Thrawn
After voicing a similar role in the Star Wars Rebels series, Lars Mikkelsen was cast in the live-action film as Grand Admiral Thrawn, one of the main villains of the first season of Ahsoka. This came after Thrawn had been one of the most dangerous villains in Star Wars Rebels, doing everything in his power to destroy the New Republic.
This struggle is expected to continue in season two, following Thrawn's three-episode appearance in season one. He will rebuild his base with the Great Mothers of Dathomir and strengthen his forces to destroy all who stand in his way.
Fuck
Marvel Cinematic Universe and Doctor Who star David Tennant joined the Star Wars universe in the first season of Ahsoka, playing a new droid named Huyan. After a brief appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Huyan played a recurring role in all eight episodes of Ahsoka's first season.
Huyang is stuck on Peridea with Ahsoka and Sabine, helping them return home and join the fight against Thrawn. He's also well-versed in the Force and ancient lightsabers and will help them immerse themselves in this story before their next battle.
Great Mothers of the Night Sisters
Introduced in Rebels, the Great Mothers of the Dathomir Nightsisters (Klotho, Achtropau, and Leikesis) will return as secondary antagonists in Ahsoka's second season. They will be played by Jane Edwina Seymour, Jeryl Prescott, and another unknown actress (following the departure of Claudia Black). These three actresses will once again work closely with Thrawn in his quest for dominance.
This trio serves as a supernatural stabilizing force for Thrawn's campaign, teaming up with him to escape Peridea. After three appearances in the first season, they will likely play a more significant role, providing Thrawn with an undead army consisting of resurrected Nightsisters and fallen stormtroopers.
Anakin Skywalker
Although Anakin Skywalker is arguably considered one of the most significant Star Wars characters, he plays only a minor role in the Ahsoka series. His role, played again by Hayden Christensen, made a significant appearance in Episode V, and he also made cameo appearances in three other episodes. He is expected to return to the role in the second season.
Anakin's role in season two will likely be less significant than in season one, and he'll likely remain in the background while Ahsoka takes the next steps in her life. It's expected he'll return as a Force ghost after the season one finale ended with him looking at Ahsoka standing behind her.
Zeb Orellios
In Ahsoka, the Ghost crew will finally be fully formed thanks to the return of Steve Blum as Zeb Orellios. He starred in Rebels and made his film debut in the third season of The Mandalorian, reprising the role in The Mandalorian and Grogu.
While Zeb's role in season two may be small, he's expected to reunite with characters like Hera and Ezra for the first time in a live-action film. He'll also likely help Ahsoka and Sabine return home to their universe.
