Movie «Scary Movie» wouldn't be complete without Anna Faris and Regina Hall. But, actually, it once was.
The esteemed actresses who played the charmingly quirky friends Cindy Campbell (Faris) and Brenda Meeks (Hall) have been the main characters in all the films of the franchise. «Scary Movie, except one: «Scary Movie 5» 2013. It's been 13 years since the release of this sequel, which saw the departure of nearly all of the original franchise's main cast and crew, along with the addition of new faces like Ashley Tisdale and Lindsay Lohan. Hall notes that nothing in her career has matched the enduring love that fans have for the bond between Cindy and Brenda.
«"I think Cindy and Brenda are definitely their best friends. But they're the most unlikely friends. It's hard to know in what real universe they could be friends," Hall laughs.
Over the past 26 years, Cindy and Brenda have been through hell together. They've survived a serial killer, a haunted house, a cursed videotape, an alien invasion, and many other unspeakable horrors to come. in the film "Scary Movie"« . But the truth is, they have… a special connection. A connection that often leads Brenda to abandon Cindy when the going gets tough.
«"Brenda is the worst friend, again, in every movie," says Hall. "She'll do anything to avoid helping Cindy." But at the same time, "Cindy sees love in her. That's the thing. And she sees so much in Cindy. I love that people enjoy their interactions, and I think they have a great dynamic because they're such complete opposites. Cindy is so kind and sweet, and Brenda... she's not so kind and sweet," says Hall, chuckling wryly.
According to the film's star «One battle after another» , the connection between Cindy and Brenda extends beyond the set, as well as the unspoken agreement that exists between her and Faris.

Faris recalls that the staff at Dimension Films, the company behind the film series since its inception in 2000 and formerly a division of Bob and Harvey Weinstein's Miramax Films, "didn't ask me to be in «Scary Movie 5» . "I'd like to think it was about money, but I'm not sure." It also wouldn't have mattered if she hadn't known how her co-star felt, because "without Regina, she wouldn't have done it.".
Star of the film "« The Rabbit's House» speaks highly of Hall, with whom she has had a fruitful collaboration for nearly three decades.
«"I always felt like I was watching her with admiration when I was acting opposite her. She's inventive. And an inventive actor, in my opinion, is a brilliant actor. But I think she's always had a more solid foundation in her sense of self, in her inner peace," Faris says.
According to her, it is this peace that brings harmony to the not entirely harmonious on-screen relationship between Cindy and Brenda.
