June 1 (UPI) -- Anna Kendrick will direct a film based on the novel "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo," Deadline first reported, and The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
The adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid's novel will be Kendrick's second film as a director. She previously directed the Netflix film "Woman of the Hour," based on the story of a woman who met serial killer Rodney Alcala on the TV show "The Dating Game.".
Netflix is also producing the book "Evelyn Hugo." The book follows a journalist who manages to interview the reclusive Hollywood star Hugo about her seven marriages.
Jenkins Reid is executive producing the film. Liz Tigelaar and Francesca Sloan are working on the adaptation.
Casting information has not yet been announced. Kendrick starred in the film "Woman," where she played a fictional contestant on the TV show "The Dating Game," and also directed.
