Ariana Grande has released a new single, "Hate That I Made You Love Me," from her upcoming album. Petal just a few days before the start of his tour.
The song was released on Friday, May 29, ahead of the album's release. Petal , scheduled for July 31st via Republic Records. PEOPLE described the track as a touching new composition from Grande's next album cycle.
The chosen launch time gives the single a bigger launch than a standard album preview. Grande's tour «Eternal Sunshine» will begin on June 6 at the Oakland Arena in Oakland, California, and run until September 1 at The O2 in London.
«"Hate That I Made You Love Me" is a calmer track that opens Grande's new album. According to Pitchfork, Grande co-wrote and produced the song with Ilya and Max Martin.
PEOPLE reported that the song explores themes of fame, projection, and the expectations placed on women in the public eye. This gives the release a more poignant tone than a simple love song, especially given Grande's return to live performance after years dedicated to acting and film.

Long gives his first full-length music video Petal A separate pop culture strand. He's better known for his work in film and television than for his appearances in music videos, making his choice for this role noticeable even before the video's release.
Pitchfork also reported that the release includes a comic-book-inspired lyric video, giving fans a visual preview before the official music video premiere.

Petal will be Grande's next album after Eternal Sunshine , which was released in 2024 and was subsequently supplemented with expanded material.

Pitchfork reported that Grande and Ilya, who has been collaborating with her since the release of "Problem" in 2014, served as executive producers and co-writers on the album.
The tour starts even before the album is released.

The O2 events page lists 10 London concerts in August and September, including dates on August 15, 16, 19, 20, 23, 24, 27, 28, 31 and September 1.
