David Bisbal will be a judge in show Operación Triunfo , which will premiere in the US on Telemundo this summer.
Bissbal became the first announced judge and contestant on the show, following the announcement that Mexican actress Natalia Telles would be hosting. This marks the end of a cycle for the Spanish singer-songwriter, who launched his international career on the first season of the Spanish show. show "Operación Triunfo"« in 2001, finishing second behind winner Rosa Lopez.

«"This is where my career began, and my life was changed forever," Bisbal said in a press release. "I'm honored to be a part of this moment, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to support, motivate, and witness the musical growth of this new generation of talented artists with big dreams.".
The famous television talent show first aired in Spain in 2001 and follows a group of aspiring singers who live in an "academy" where they receive professional training and participate in weekly competitions.
Now a new version is coming to the US.
«"Operation Triumph is a format with an incredibly rich history and a proven emotional connection with audiences of all ages, especially the younger generation, many of whom haven't watched traditional broadcast television. Over time, it has become a true cultural phenomenon in Spain," he previously told the publication. Billboard Javier Pons, Chief Content Officer and Head of Telemundo Studios.
He continued: «The essence of Operation Triumph will remain the same, as it is the foundation of its global success… The magic [of this reality show] is that it goes beyond the traditional singing competition to become a true platform for transformation.«.
News of Bisbal's appointment as a judge came shortly after the artist announced his Eternos tour, which will begin on December 9 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and conclude on December 19 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami.
