The First Amendment concert "Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment," featuring artists such as Bette Midler, Patti Smith, and Rufus Wainwright, added another star-studded lineup on Monday (June 1). As reported Billboard , Among those attending this special event in New York City, which celebrates the freedoms of the United States protected by the First Amendment, will be actresses Julia Roberts and Lily Gladstone.
On Monday, Wilson Cruz, Peppermint, Jenn Colella, Alex Joseph Grayson, Singing Resistance, Rude Mechanical Orchestra, Kayla Davion and Reverend Adrienne Thorne were also added to the Rise Up, Sing Out lineup.

The Rise Up, Sing Out concert will take place at New York City's Town Hall on June 14 at 7:30 PM ET. Tickets are available now at riseupsingout.com or Ticketmaster. Viewers can also watch the concert online for free.
All proceeds from ticket sales will support the work of the Committee for the First Amendment, which describes the event as "an inspiring evening of song, solidarity, and action." Its goal is "to empower people across the country to unite against the authoritarian changes threatening our democracy today." "We cannot sit idly by while our rights are under threat," Jane Fonda said in a statement about the event. "History shows us that when democracy is threatened, song becomes one of our most powerful weapons. We now stand at a critical crossroads. It's time for us to rise up, raise our voices, and speak out against a government that refuses to put the interests of its people first. We fight the best way we know how: with our community and in solidarity.".
Rise Up, Sing Out is directed by Shele Williams, musically directed by Mary Mitchell Campbell, and produced by Bruce Cohen and rigor + ruckus (Robb Nanus, Heather Shields, and Rachel Sussman). The event is written by Bess Kalb, with lighting design by Jamie Roderick, sound design by Cody Spencer, and projection design by Daniel Brody and Olivia Sebesky. Linda Marvel is the scenic production manager.
In honor of this event, the No Kings Coalition is launching a national day of organizing on June 14th to bring people together in public and private parties in support of our First Amendment rights.
