Linda Perry has strong opinions about where Madonna is now as an artist.
In the new issue of the Consequence series called Bucket List Perry said she wants to help Madonna "get back" to her "power" by helping her write new music, rather than what Perry says Madonna is doing now, which is chasing trends.
«"Madonna, call me when you're ready to get back in shape, okay?" the singer-songwriter said.
«"She's turned me down so many times," Perry continued. "When Madonna is ready to retire, she should record an album with me, because I'll make her an amazing album. Because one of the biggest issues I have with Madonna right now is that she's one of the greatest. She taught women to be strong and be themselves.".

«"And I love how she's constantly evolved. Her sound, every album, has sounded different. She's an explorer. She's a leader. She stands in front of everyone, showing the way, telling people what to do, how to be brave, how to go out and kick ass.".
However, Perry believes Madonna has changed and is now a "follower.".
«"She's following trends. She's trying to compete with Charli XCX and all that, and everything about her seems weak and feeble to me. So I'd happily invite that woman into the studio, slap her a couple of times, and say, 'Wake up, get back to who you really are and what you represent. You're a leader.'".
Perry is the author of several major hits, writing and producing songs such as Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," Pink's "Get the Party Started," and Gwen Stefani's "What You Waiting For?" Perry has also collaborated with Adele, Alicia Keys, and Courtney Love, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015.
