I'm so glad Lobo is finally making his DC movie debut in a TV series. «Supergirl» , and it seems he's getting a lot of attention in recent trailers (sorry, Crypto). The fan-favorite bounty hunter is also getting his share of merchandising attention, and I'm not just talking about action figures. The character, played by Jason Momoa, is now the basis for an awesome popcorn bucket that's coming soon, but fans are also noticing one drawback.
Movie-themed popcorn buckets are all the rage right now, as it's hard to find a 2026 release that doesn't have one. So, thanks to @DCFilmNews, we have a chance to take a look at one of these buckets from the series. «Supergirl» — this is the exact image of Lobo on a motorcycle, which will be available in select theaters. This is definitely a cool souvenir, and it's definitely unique among other containers. It's also fitting that a character like Lobo would be the basis for this bucket, given his popularity among comic book fans over the years. Overall, this movie-related souvenir seems like an obvious choice, and I'm glad it's being released and that fans can get their hands on it.
While I can imagine many people buying this container, some do point out one drawback: it doesn't seem to hold much popcorn. Commenters on the X post, as well as Reddit users, pointed out this aspect of the Lobo container. Check out what some of them have to say:

I love the creativity of this solution. It's better than just sticking a movie poster on a bucket. However, it's just a toy. In fact, there's no difference between it and the toy you can find on the shelf at Target—The Prime Snacker.

These are perfectly fair points, but to be fair, creating a Lobo-shaped bucket—complete with the character's signature motorcycle—is no easy task. It's also worth mentioning that other franchises have had buckets that looked stylish but were somewhat smaller. I've seen popcorn buckets. from Shrek« , which fall into this category, and, of course, even the viral popcorn bucket from Dune 2« It doesn't really hold much of a salty snack.

The Supergirl director confirmed the series' continuation, and I'm so happy!
While fans may point out popcorn buckets that don't seem quite functional, I don't think moviegoers buy them for their functionality. When I buy a sword-shaped drinking glass from «Masters of the Universe» , It's not because I think he's the best choice for a coaster. It's because he's fun and would look cool on a shelf, just like that Lobo figure.
It seems we're approaching a point in movie merchandise sales where audiences are starting to realize they're willing to spend a fair amount on collectibles that aren't necessarily snack-related. So, it seems like someone willing to spend money on a popcorn bucket from the movie "Super Mario Galaxy"« , which is no better for popcorn than a standard large bucket, then it might make sense to start offering collectibles that aren't just snacks.
But all that aside, I'm not against this bucket of Lobo. Besides, regarding the bucket's promotion, I'm hoping to see a video of Jason Momoa himself somehow promoting the container. And, of course, I can't wait to see what the actor brings to the role of the classic DC Comics antihero on the big screen.
Series premiere «Supergirl» will be released on June 26th, and my excitement is definitely growing. In the meantime, fans can watch a ton of DC movies by subscribing to HBO Max.
