Mike Sorrentino is planning to get into politics, but first wants to make a purposeful stop!
An American TV presenter has taken a new approach to political involvement with the aim of helping eradicate the threat of drug addiction by helping those suffering from it find solace.
Mike Sorrentino made a splash on "Jersey Shore," much like up-and-coming politician Spencer Pratt, who was also a reality TV star. "The Situation," as he's affectionately known, celebrated ten years of sobriety and substance-free status last December.

In an interview at the VUE magazine spring issue party, Sorrentino said he sees a bright future in politics for himself once he achieves all his goals.
The reality TV star said his current focus is expanding the Archangel Centers network of drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers he co-founded with Ascend Behavioral Health Network.
Sorrentino continued that, more broadly, there are also plans to establish Archangel centers in all 50 states over the next few years. Once this mission is accomplished, he joked that people might start calling him "Governor Situation.".
Despite these grand plans, the reality TV star has not yet committed to any political party, but he is confident that New Jersey residents will support the idea of lowering property taxes.
Through her partnership with the Archangel Center, the reality TV star continues to spread messages of hope, life experience, and strength in healthcare facilities, schools, and colleges.

Earlier this month, the TV host spoke candidly about his 11-year journey to sobriety. These reflections came during the premiere of "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation," where he thanked his wife, Lauren Sorrentino, for helping him make the significant changes his life deserved.
The reality TV star admitted that he finds even more satisfaction and meaning in helping others through their recovery than in appearing on TV shows and entertaining strangers.
The former MTV personality married his wife in 2018 after meeting in a college math class when Lauren was 19 and he was 22, and they subsequently dated for four years. Lauren and the reality TV star married just months before the media personality was sentenced to eight months in prison for tax evasion.

Sorrentino has never been afraid to speak out about the addiction that nearly destroyed him before he quit drinking and using drugs. According to The Blast, the reality TV star previously admitted that at one point in his battle with drug addiction, he spent nearly $500,000 on drugs.
Looking back, Sorrentino described the act as reckless and out of control, allowing addiction to take over his finances and lifestyle. He added that his drug addiction became so severe that he rarely went anywhere without drugs.
The reality TV star recalled using cocaine, oxycodone, Xanax, and Valium to cope with the stress of living in the public eye and his demanding work. Sorrentino explained that he initially convinced himself the drugs helped him maintain his energy levels and cope with the demands of his job.

In 2023, The Blast reported that the TV star announced his intention to document his entire life experience in a book. He said the book would contain important moments in his life, including both happy and sad ones.
The idea for a memoir was born from a burning desire to build a better world and give people with addiction hope that their future could be better. Sharing the book cover on Instagram, the former Jersey Shore alum revealed that he spent over a year writing the autobiography.
The memoir describes one of the most difficult periods of his life, when he dabbled in heroin and lost a close friend. It also recounts times of financial hardship and homelessness, and, ultimately, how he summoned the strength to pick up the pieces of his shattered life.

In 2024, the former MTV star shared a video on Instagram capturing a horrific episode in which their son choked during a family dinner. The couple's son, Romeo, began coughing at the end of the table, prompting the parents to wonder if the spices were too strong.
Realizing his son was choking, Sorrentino immediately sprang to action, jumping up from his seat and patting Romeo on the back, trying to clear the congestion. His wife also approached the kitchen table and quietly asked the reality TV star for a tool to help her get the food out.
Neither parent panicked, and Romeo remained calm while they tried to clear his airway. But their efforts were rewarded when the blockage was finally cleared. Romeo immediately began coughing and crying, and Lauren hugged him comfortingly.
