Max B abruptly ended an interview with Complex after learning he was not included in the publication's list of the 50 best New York rappers of all time.
The Harlem rapper appeared alongside French Montana in an episode of the series Re-Rank from Complex when the conversation turned to the publication's ranking of the best New York MCs of all time. However, once Max realized his name wasn't on the list, the situation quickly spiraled out of control.
«"I don't even see my name on there," Max said during the broadcast. "And now you know I put my name first. That's crazy. You don't even have Don's name on there. You think all these niggas are better than me?"»
Host Jordan Rose began reading out the names on the list, including Mos Def, MF DOOM, Ghostface Killah, and Prodigy, but Max didn't want to hear any of it.

«"I've had enough of this interview, we're getting out of here, Montana," he said before getting up and walking off the set.
Although French Montana and Rose initially laughed at the situation, Max looked genuinely annoyed as he continued talking and walked away.
«"I'm already feeling sleepy," Max added. "See you at the hotel. We're in charge here, dude, don't say a word.".
According to the episode, approximately 45 minutes passed before Rose returned and reported that Max had not returned to continue filming, while French tried to convince him to return to the set.
At this point, French also came to his co-writer's defense, saying, "Not having Max is crazy.".
While he never achieved the same commercial success as some of the names mentioned in this segment, Max remains one of the most influential and iconic figures in modern hip-hop. Known for his more melodic style than some of his peers, Max has had a profound influence on an entire generation of artists, including French Montana, ASAP Rocky, and even Drake.
The moment comes as Max B and French Montana continue to promote their new collaboration Wave Gods 2: Cosmos Brothers , marking a new chapter in their long-standing musical collaboration and the second since Max's release from prison in 2025.
