No matter which way the wind blows, Morgan Wallen remains committed to his decision.
The singer known for the hit "Cowgirls" is not backing down and defends his decision to cancel his Pittsburgh show. A week after causing confusion by overturning a piano onstage in a fit of rage, Wallen himself provoked the audience's wrath by canceling his performance at the last minute.
Due to the threat of severe weather in the Pittsburgh area, Wallen canceled his Saturday evening concert, the second of two scheduled shows at Acrisure Stadium, just hours before the event. This move sparked outrage, with fans criticizing the singer for acting prematurely and complaining that the weather had cleared before it became too severe. Wallen responded to the criticism with a video message Saturday evening.
«"This morning, my crew came up to the bus and said they'd checked with local authorities and that I should cancel my Pittsburgh show tonight," the country singer said in the video. "And I said, 'Why?' They said there were high winds forecast for the area, and I said, 'Okay.'".

He continued: «That’s exactly what I did at that moment, trusting my team.».
Wallen acknowledged that while Pittsburgh was ultimately spared the worst of the storm, nearby areas of Pennsylvania were affected.
«"The truth is, I had a big scene, which, under those circumstances, could have been deadly for many people around me," he said. "So I did the best I could, based on the information I had at the time.".
He added: "I see a lot of nonsense about me that's just not true, and I just wanted to clear that up. I think my true fans know I don't usually do this, but I had to say it.".
In his initial message, Wallen assured fans that the decision was not made lightly and involved consultation with many parties.
«"After speaking with local authorities and my team, we have no choice but to cancel tonight's show due to severe weather conditions expected throughout the day and night," Wallen, 33, wrote on his Instagram Stories. "The safety of my fans and crew is our top priority.".

But as night fell and the weather improved, fans began complaining about this choice on social media. Wallen was also criticized by several local figures.
KDKA radio host Marty Griffin claimed that "Acrisure Stadium management" was "furious." Griffin wrote on X: "Sources confirm... Wallen flew out of town before the meeting even started and demanded the game be called off mid-air.".
Pittsburgh Sports Now editor Mike J. Asti speculated that Wallen "won't be welcomed back" after the "incredible turn of events.".
Pittsburgh comedian Dustin Nickerson shared a photo of the sunset, joking, "Morgan Wallen's show in Pittsburgh tonight was canceled due to weather. In his defense, this is probably the most beautiful night I've ever seen.".

Wallen's representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Entertainment Weekly about the comment.
For the second weekend in a row, attention has been focused on Wallen and his Still the Problem tour. Last week, Wallen attracted considerable attention by flipping over a malfunctioning piano. On Friday, the singer, known for the hit "Whiskey Glasses," was performing at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver when technical difficulties forced him to pause his piano performance and finish the song a cappella.
When the song ended, the singer turned abruptly, pushed and knocked over the piano, which crashed onto the stage and shattered into pieces. Although some criticized this behavior as unprofessional, Wallen later joked about the incident on social media.

Wallen is currently nearing the end of his Still the Problem tour, a follow-up to his sold-out 2025 arena tour, the I'm the Problem Tour. His arena run will conclude with a performance in Philadelphia on August 1st.
