Galitsin, 31, spoke about his family and friends' reactions to his stunning figure, which he showed off at a special film screening in New York City on Monday, June 1. "When you see family and friends after a long break, and they see how you've blossomed, it's very, very unexpected for them," he told PEOPLE.
«"My family will definitely hug me… My mom is so tiny," he adds. "She can't wrap her arms around me. It's so cute.".
In a recent interview with E! News, Galitsin revealed he consumed 5,000 calories a day to "gain as much muscle mass as possible" and often lifted weights "for three hours a day" to get into superhero shape. Before this film, Galitsin was best known for his roles in romantic films such as «Red, White, and Royal Blue» и «The Idea of You» , as well as a funny role in the comedy «Bottoms» . He took over the He-Man mantle from Swedish actor and martial artist Dolph Lundgren, who played He-Man in the 1987 film of the same name.

In recent months, Galitsin has spoken about how challenging his physical preparation for the film was. In an interview with PEOPLE magazine in December, he described gaining muscle mass for the role as "the hardest thing I've ever done.".
«"It was a daily challenge, but there's something incredibly inspiring about dedicating yourself so seriously to something," he said at the time. "I've never experienced a challenge like this before, where you wake up every morning and vaguely see the mountaintop, especially when you're gaining muscle mass. I think it would be disingenuous of me to say it was easy.".
The actor also stated that he is unlikely to maintain his He-Man form in the future. At the world premiere film "Masters of the Universe" »" In Los Angeles on May 18, Galitzine told PEOPLE that he received permission from the director of one of his upcoming projects to relax a bit. "I'd say I ate a cross between sushi and pizza and just thought, 'Go ahead, eat whatever you want,'" he said of his first "forbidden" meal after filming. "So, no, it wasn't hard. Considering my next director didn't want me to look like He-Man in his movie, he said, 'Eat as much as you want and stop working out.'".
