Simone Biles has shared rare information with fans about her health after a terrifying incident that nearly cost her her life.

The American gymnast and seven-time gold medalist took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday to announce that she is in bed and resting after recent health issues.

«"I don't usually share things like this because I value my privacy these days," Bayles began her post on June 6. "But nearly dying this week wasn't part of my plan.".

She continued: "It was one of the scariest, if not the scariest, experiences of my life. Especially considering [husband] Jonathan [Owens] was in Indianapolis for practice." [Owens, who married Bayles in April 2023, signed a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts in March 2026.]

Biles' post was accompanied by a photo of her hand wearing a hospital bracelet.

«"I'll be here," she wrote, accompanying the post with a photo of a heart rate monitor.

Just two days ago, Bayles hinted at her recent hospital stay by sharing a glimpse of her Texas mansion with fans. Among the photos from her home was a shot of Bayles holding a plate of eggs, sausage, and toast while lying in her bed.

«"Breakfast in bed. Just what I needed," she captioned the now-deleted post.

«"I've achieved a lot in my sport. To come back, I really need to be excited about the upcoming competitions," Biles told the French sports newspaper L'Equipe last year. "You'll tell me the prospects of the Los Angeles Games are exciting. And I'll be there, whether on the apparatus or in the stands, I haven't decided yet.".
