Baby Harry

When the prince was born, he already had red hair, thanks to his maternal relatives.

All three of Princess Diana's siblings, including Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, have red hair, so Harry's appearance with red locks came as a pleasant, if not entirely unexpected, surprise.

Rumors about transplantation

While Harry has never confirmed or denied reports that he had a hair transplant in his 30s to achieve thicker hair, many royal watchers have wondered why his hair looks healthier than ever.

Jay Dharamshi, hair specialist and founder of Sky Clinic, in an interview with the magazine HELLO! In 2023, he noted that the prince had "thicker and fuller" hair.

«"In my opinion, Harry has likely undergone non-surgical treatments that make his hair look more restored and thicker," Jay said.

«"He may undergo hair restoration treatments using PRP or mesotherapy, which involves microinjecting active ingredients into the mesoderm. These are highly effective treatments that slow hair loss and increase hair volume.".

New generation

Harry's two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, appear to have inherited their father's redhead genes: in photographs taken at their California home, the former has red hair and the latter has light red hair.

«"The Spencer gene is very, very strong," he shared in program «The Late Show with Stephen Colbert» . "At the beginning of our relationship [with Megan], I really, really thought that if things worked out and we had kids, there was no way my red hair would be able to compete with my wife's genes, but I was wrong!"«
