Rick Springfield and Sammy Hagar are teaming up for an eight-date summer tour beginning June 13 in St. Louis.

The rockers have been friends for over 50 years and believe that music and an active lifestyle help them feel young.

The duo also collaborated on Sammy's Beach Bar Rum, which Hagar jokes Springfield is rebranding as his own.
Rock musicians Rick Springfield and Sammy Hagar are almost 80, but they live their own lives – performing rock 'n' roll and now going on tour together.
The 76-year-old singer, known for the hit "Jessie's Girl," will join the 78-year-old former Van Halen frontman on his "Best of All Worlds" summer tour, performing eight shows in June. The duo says they're looking forward to spending the entire month together. They also say they can't believe they've known each other for over 50 years.
«"We're like old people!" Springfield says, laughing, about how long they've known each other. They met when Springfield performed Hagar's hit "I've Done Everything for You" in the early '80s.
Hagar says that despite being 70 years old, they are still young at heart.
«"I think Rick acts like an adult sometimes," he says. "Not like an old man, but he acts like an adult every now and then. And I rarely do! It's funny thinking about my grandfather and what he was like at 60… the world has changed, but I don't even think about age.".

«"Music helps you stay young anyway," adds Springfield, who also says he works out every day. "And rock music definitely helps you stay young.".

Hagar says his love of the beach also helps him stay hydrated.
«"I'm a beach freak. I'm unstoppable. No shoes, no shirt, no problem, nothing," he says of wearing nothing but swimsuit when he's not working. "My wife says, 'Honey, please put on a T-shirt, we're having guests.' I say, 'Okay,'", I'll try “I call swimming trunks my uniform.».
Speaking of beach lovers, it's worth noting that these two aren't just musical partners; they're also partners in the production of alcoholic beverages, specifically Beach Bar Rum.
«"It's called Sammy's Beach Bar rum, but Rick calls it Ricky's Beach Bar rum," Hagar jokes. "He erases my name from T-shirts and stuff and puts his on it. Can you imagine having a partner like that?"»

The question is, do they still drink rum cocktails together?
Hagar says he does this when he's in the studio.
«"Sometimes I go to bed at 8 p.m., and sometimes I stay up late working in the studio. Basically, it's what I love to do, and alcohol plays a role in it, it's completely natural—music, alcohol, and rock 'n' roll, it's always been great.".
He adds: "But I don't get drunk anymore. No hangovers. I've become smarter. I realized that at 50!"«
Rick Springfield will join Sammy Hagar's tour first. «Best of All Worlds» June 13 in St. Louis, Missouri.
