On Wednesday night, the opening day of the Tribeca Film Festival, Robert De Niro criticized Donald Trump without mentioning the president by name.
«"You know who I'm talking about," the Oscar winner told the audience, contrasting what he called the idea of "bringing people together" at the heart of the New York Film Festival he co-founded after the 9/11 attacks with "monstrous leaders" who "try to divide us for their own immoral, cruel, and corrupt ends," Variety reports.

De Niro has repeatedly condemned Trump, calling him "an existential threat to our freedoms and security," a "philistine president," a "monster," and a "tyrant.".
He also called him a "moron" and a "clown.".
Most recently, De Niro made another dig at Trump during one of the final segments of Stephen Colbert's "Late Show.".
Meanwhile, Trump has repeatedly criticized De Niro on social media and even threatened to deport the actor, despite him being a US citizen.
