The child custody battle between Rumer Willis and her ex-partner, Derek Richard Thomas, took a dramatic turn after new documents were filed challenging claims made by both Rumer and her mother, Demi Moore. In his latest legal response, Derek denied allegations of child abuse while expressing his own concerns about their three-year-old daughter, Louetta.
What began as a private family dispute is increasingly escalating into legal proceedings, with accusations now flying from both sides. Derek's latest statement reportedly paints a completely different picture than the one previously described by Rumer and Demi.
Derek Richard Thomas is challenging Demi Moore and Rumer Willis' child abuse allegations in court.
According to TMZ, Demi claimed in court documents that Derek appeared overbearing and indifferent to both Rumer and their daughter. However, Derek reportedly categorically denied these allegations in his new response.
According to the documents filed, Derek claimed he never behaved aggressively or inappropriately toward Rumer. He also claimed that Rumer had launched what he described as a coordinated media campaign against him during their ongoing child custody dispute.
One of his most surprising statements concerned Louetta's social media presence. Derek reportedly claimed that Rumer used their daughter in adult-themed ads, claiming he never consented to their child being used in such a way.
The musician also denied allegations of financial support and drug abuse. Derek reportedly told the court he was willing to pay reasonable child support based on his average monthly income of approximately $2,350. He also denied allegations of drug use.
Meanwhile, Derek maintained that he remained actively involved in Louetta's life. He stated that he video-chatted with his daughter daily for over a year and repeatedly attempted to arrange in-person meetings. These attempts, he said, were often complicated by changing visitation arrangements.
He also claimed that Louetta's move to Idaho after the Los Angeles wildfires was initially intended to be temporary before problems with the residence reportedly arose.
