Swift ultimately purchased the rights to her first six albums for an undisclosed sum in 2025.

On the Second Thought podcast, Scooter Braun opened up about his feud with Taylor Swift. Braun, who had long avoided talking about Swift, finally addressed the alleged feud with the pop star. Notably, the Second Thought podcast was hosted by Susie Weiss. Braun admitted, "I don't know Taylor Swift. I think I've met her three times in my life. I've never had a meaningful conversation with her.".
Braun recalled that before purchasing Swift's music catalog, she invited him to a private party. The former music manager said the pop star told him she had "the deepest respect" for him, and he reciprocated. "You don't spend $300 million to buy her label if you're not excited about working with her," he added.
Throughout the acquisition of Big Machine Records, Brown insisted they "never had any contact." So when she criticized him in her viral Tumblr post, he "was as confused as you were about this being a part of my life," Brown told Weiss.
Braun insisted that fans had the misconception that he managed Swift's career and that they knew each other well. Fans were shocked to learn that this was not the case at all and that he "really" didn't know her.
Reflecting on the feud's end a year later, the former talent manager said, "I decided to learn from it and grow as a person. At this point in my life, I'm grateful for that." However, Brown added that to this day, "I'll never truly understand that situation.".
Brown went on to say that he learned a lot from the situation and "decided to take it as a lesson for myself.".
