In the music video, directed by Logan Mays and Shabousie, Miller, a fearless gunslinger, enters a seedy saloon in a remote corner of the Wild West. Our heroine is no timid soul. She's unfazed by anything, and she outshines the other cowboys in drinking, arm wrestling, shooting, and all other skills.
The video begins with an explanation. The action takes place five days after the death of Sheriff Lee. The "cowgirl" is seething with rage, in a daze. Undoubtedly, she is haunted by the death of her partner, the town sheriff.
This energetic song is a follow-up to the April release of "Born To Die," the first track from Shaboozey's upcoming concept album. «"The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales"» .
The upcoming collection is a portrait of the Wild West, a rural tale told with elements of Americana, hip-hop, and pop, telling a "tragic, mythical story of revenge, love, and transformation," according to a statement. It is said to unfold like a Western, told in chapters with narration, cutscenes, and cinematic transitions.
The protagonist is Sheri Lee, a woman scarred by violence and driven by loss. During her travels, she falls in love with a bandit, which opens her to a world she seeks to destroy. The story is complex, takes a bloody turn, and the heroine must make several important decisions.
Cherie Lee's The Outlaw will be released on July 31st via EMPIRE Records and will be the follow-up to his 2024 breakthrough project Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going . Shaboozey is the creator of one of the biggest hits of the streaming era, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," which set a new record for the longest time at number one on the chart. Billboard Radio Songs than any other song before it, spending 19 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. The success of "A Bar Song" also cemented Shaboozey's place in music history, making him the first artist to simultaneously chart in the top 10 of the Country Airplay, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, and Rhythmic Airplay charts. It also became only the second song by a Black artist to top both the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts.
