Last year, Sonny Corinthos from the TV series "General Hospital"« became a homebody. He largely stayed out of the limelight, often hosting receptions in his living room while his subordinates went about their business. Now Sonny has emerged from the shadows to become embroiled in Port Charles's criminal history, which he is not responsible for. According to the actor Maurice Benard , it's not the end yet.

Now that Sonny has his problem under control with Jenz Sidwell ( Carlo Rota ), having set a trap for the mad criminal butler Sidwell, Benard enjoys what is happening and promises that this is only the beginning.
«"I just want to say that GH is absolutely amazing right now, there's so much going on and Sonny is back and it's so cool," Benard recently tweeted, prompting a huge backlash from fans.
As one fan put it, "Yeah, the fact that Sidwell was more powerful than Sonny didn't sit well with me.".
Indeed, many thought this was wrong, since Sonny had been the leading crime boss (with a good heart) in Port Charles for over thirty years. Enemies would appear, but Sonny would eventually defeat them and return to the top. Sidwell managed to force Sonny to surrender when he produced incriminating photographs. Laura ( Jennie Francis ) and Sonny with the dead body Henry Dalton ( Daniel Goddard ). It was Sidwell who killed Dalton, and Sonny is determined to prove it.
The first thing he did was set a trap for the butler, and Sonny did the dirty work himself, disconnecting the starter wires from Pascal's car while he was attempting his grand escape. It was Sonny taking charge, something fans had been waiting for, one of whom said, "Finally, Sonny realized he's a mob boss, not a grandpa sitting at home making lasagna and playing with puppies.".
Considering that Sonny's right-hand man and longtime goon, Jason Morgan , is set to return to the ring next month with the return of Steve Burton, it's safe to say Sonny won't be taking a break anytime soon.
