The baker behind the Los Angeles-going "Vote Pratt" cookies surprised Spencer Pratt with a personal thank you at a campaign event Saturday after her political-themed cookies became a national sensation.
Daniela Romano, the baker behind the viral Spencer Pratt cookies that sparked a social media frenzy that also included Jimmy Kimmel's sister-in-law, told Pratt that orders are still pouring in from all over the country weeks after the cookie controversy first broke online.
«"You've brought me so many orders, it's just incredible," Romano told Pratt. "I wanted to come and just return the favor.".

The cookies have caused a stir online after a scandal erupted over their sale at a popular grocery store in Brentwood.
Claims that Jimmy Kimmel's sister-in-law, Carly Kimmel, objected to a store selling candy in support of Pratt have sparked a social media storm.
Now this attention is leading to orders from all over America.
«"We're getting calls from all over the country," Romano told The California Post.
«"I've had calls from Canada today. I've had calls from West Virginia, South Carolina, Florida. From all over the world. From Texas, most of Texas.".

Demand has become so huge that Romano is still working on how to organize the delivery of cookies across the country.
«"Oh, we're talking about thousands of requests," she said.
For Romano, this success has special meaning.

Romano lost both her home and her bakery in the Palisades fire.
After decades spent growing his business in Pacific Palisades, Romano is now rebuilding it, opening a much smaller shop with the help of his brother and his team of bakers.
The sudden surge in orders gave her business an unexpected boost during one of the most challenging periods of her life.

«"It's definitely opened up a whole new sales opportunity," Romano said. "Now people know where I am because before they didn't know where I was.".
At an event on Saturday, Romano told Pratt she was inspired by his campaign and his willingness to fight for local issues.
«"I've worked in this city for 38 years, starting when I was 14," Romano said. "I saw you and thought, 'I could have done something.' Why didn't I do something? Why does he work so hard?"»
«"You really impressed me," she added. "I thought, look at him, he's fighting for us, for our city.".
Romano said the only challenge now is organizing the delivery of cookies to customers across the country. She's currently working on delivery and expects to begin accepting orders nationwide soon.
«"People don't even worry about not getting them this week, next week, next week," Romano said. "They're all so beautiful and so patient.".
