Not only is "Behind the Scenes" very good, but it's also incredibly successful. In its opening weekend, it broke the box office record for any A24 release, earning nearly $120 million worldwide.
It's a good sign for fans who were left wanting for suspense after the film's ambiguous ending, because director Kane Parsons says he's not done with "Behind the Scenes." The adaptation of his YouTube series wasn't the end of the story, Parsons told Variety, and while he hasn't officially confirmed a sequel, there's still plenty to come.

«"For those who are wondering, I have a contract and I'm in control," Parsons said, "which means I'm definitely not done with Backrooms.".
This could mean a sequel to the film is quite possible, but it also seems Parsons may return to the Backrooms YouTube videos that initially captivated so many viewers.
«"I don't want to leave YouTube. I really enjoy the work I did there, and I feel a creative satisfaction commensurate with what I achieved with this film," Parsons said.
«"Personally, I think it makes sense because there are a lot of projects I simply could never have realized outside of YouTube or the more freeform nature of online media. So I wouldn't limit myself to just one place, but I think it's a way of saying I have a good project going right now, and I want to tap into the energy and positivity that's currently surrounding this film.".
Parsons, working under the pseudonym Kane Pixels, began creating "Backrooms" videos for YouTube in Blender in 2022, which have garnered tens of millions of views. In subsequent works, he explored the horrors of other liminal spaces, such as a shopping mall discovered deep underground in "The Oldest View" and a fictional adventure game in "People Still Live Here.".
«"Backrooms was definitely always planned as a series beyond this film," Parsons said. "I would say it's sort of the first step that will lead to further development of a story that's been building online for years.".
