The song "Cowgirl" will be included on the upcoming concept album Shaboozey titled "The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales.". The album, scheduled for release on July 31st, has been several years in the making. "It's a revenge Western, told continuously through each song, centered around the character of Sheri Lee," Shaboozey explained in a statement. "It explores a variety of themes, like many timeless Westerns: revenge, redemption, and romance, through the eyes of a protagonist who seeks to challenge everything she once believed to be true in her world.".
The press release describes the project as "a cinematic tale of outlaw revenge with a tragic love at its center. After her sheriff father is murdered by members of the Buttcut Boys, Sheri Lee throws down her badge and begins hunting down the gangsters one by one. In the midst of her vengeance, she unexpectedly falls in love with one of the outlaws. He believes that love for her can redeem him; she hopes that love for him will quell her dark side. They are both mistaken. In the final act, Sheri chooses blood over love, killing the man who loves her most and completely becoming the very thing she set out to destroy.".
This fall, Shaboozey will embark on a tour in support of his album. His Outlaws Never Die Tour kicks off on September 8 in Phoenix and runs through the end of October.
