Just a week after Everytime won the top prize in the Un Certain Regard competition section at the Cannes Film Festival, North American rights have been acquired.
New York-based independent distributor 1-2 Special, founded in early 2025, has acquired the rights to Sandra Wollner's critically acclaimed book in the south of France.

The film, directed by Gregory Oke, known for his work on "After the Sun," tells the story of a mother, her young daughter, and a teenager, united by tragedy, who travel to the Canary Islands for a family vacation that never happened. Under the rays of the coastal sun, the past and present begin to intertwine seamlessly.
«"Every Time" is Wollner's third feature film. Her debut film, "The Impossible Picture," won the German Film Critics' Association Award for Best Film and the Ingmar Bergman Award for International Debut at the Gothenburg Film Festival. Her second feature, "The Problems of Birth," premiered at the 2020 Berlinale, where it won the Special Jury Prize in the "Encounters" category.
In the magazine review Variety It was said that "Everytime" "looks like the most sophisticated and inventive formal work in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival this year" and that it confirmed Wollner's status as a "future star.".
"Everytime" was produced by Lixie Frank and David Bohun of Panama Film, and Victoria Stolpe of The Barricades. It stars Birgit Minichmayr, known for her roles in Maren Ade's "Everyone Else" and Michael Haneke's "The White Ribbon.".
The deal was negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers by Charades in conjunction with 1-2 Special, which acquired the rights to the Critics' Week award-winning film "La Gradiva" during the Cannes Film Festival.
