Tom Holland has changed his mind about Spider-Man after he previously stated that he did not intend to continue playing the Marvel character past his 30s.
In a new article for the magazine GQ , published on Tuesday, June 2, dedicated to his role in the upcoming film by Christopher Nolan «"Odyssey"» , The 30-year-old English actor reflected on his career and the time when he had other plans for the future.
«"If I'm playing Spider-Man after 30 years, then I've done something wrong," he told the same publication in 2021.

When Holland, who celebrated his 30th birthday on June 1, was asked about his 2026 statements, he changed his mind.
«"It's funny, I came across that quote somewhere recently and I was a little confused because I was trying to remember what I meant," he said.
«"I think the bottom line is, I'd really like to pass the torch, but I haven't been able to yet," said the actor, who has played the dual role of Peter Parker and the friendly neighborhood superhero since he was 18.
«"We definitely discuss it a lot in the studio," Holland continued. "So maybe I should change the quote to 37.".
He jokingly added that the statement, made several years ago, could have been an attempt to «put pressure on Sony and intimidate them into thinking that I’m not going to make «Spider-Man 4» now that I have a new contract looming on the horizon.".
«"So I don't know what it could have been," he continued. "It could have been part of a strategy to create fear.".
The actor added that he would be more than proud to continue his work in this popular franchise.
«"I think the truth is that playing Spider-Man has been the joy of my life," he said. "Now I'm kind of on a pedestal, and I'll keep doing it for as long as I'm invited.".
Holland, who started a relationship with his co-star in the film "Spider-Man"« Zendaya in 2021 has a lot to think about as her career progresses.

«"I have so many amazing things going on in my personal life that I have enough to last me the rest of my life, and I feel like I have a new sense of where I want to be in Hollywood," he said, adding that as the year comes to an end, he doesn't want to feel "an insatiable desire to just work, work, work, work, work.".
Zendaya, 29, shared similar plans after releasing four films in less than a year ( «"Drama"» , «"Odyssey"» , «Spider-Man: New Day» и «Dune: Part Three» ), as well as the completion of three seasons of the series «"Euphoria"» .
«"I guess I just hope people don't get tired of me," she said with a laugh in a joint interview with her co-star. «"Drama"» Robert Pattinson for Fandango in March.

Spider-Man: New Day« will be released in cinemas on July 31st.
