After the producers agreed the scene wasn't working, Holland approached director Destin Daniel Cretton and said, "Hey, man, listen, I know we've been filming for hours, and I hate to say this, but I just don't think this scene is working. Zee and I aren't feeling the way we should be feeling right now.".

Holland praised Creton's ability to remain "calm," noting that the director listened to their concerns before sending the rest of the crew home and then rewrote the scene with one of the writers.

«"We came in the next day and reshot the scene, and I'm so glad we did because it looks great in the movie," Holland shared.
